Diploma in Civil Engineering (3 years full time course)
The department of Civil Engineering established
in 2006 with intake capacity of 60 students. The department is having well
equipped and furnished labs as per norms laid down by Gujarat State
Board of Technical Education Gandhinagar. Department is
having conventional laboratories of, Surveying, Testing of Materials, Concrete
Technology and Computer Lab. for computing facilities. Major equipment’s such
as Total Station, Compression Testing Machine, Digital Universal Testing
Machine, Rebound Hammer, Auto Level is Available in the department. Faculty of
Department are very Enthusiastic. The faculty believes in high quality teaching
and overall development of Diploma Civil Engineering. Students for their
Professional Carrier and Higher Education.
The
department beholds to be one among the core field in polytechnic diploma. It is
provided with Basic civil workshop , Survey lab, CAD lab, Material
Testing lab, Hydraulics lab, Advanced surveying lab (Total Station),
Environmental Engineering lab, Geotechnical Engineering lab, Transportation
Lab, etc Upon completion of this course, the students can get opportunities in
state and central government jobs, public works departments like irrigation,
Highways, Railways, Building, Housing Municipal corporation, Survey of India,
MES, Surveying and also self employment as consultants, surveyors, contractors
etc. This Department is considered to be the most versatile branch among all
the engineering branches. Many important things in our lives that we take for
granted are the products of Civil Engineering.
The
civil engineering diploma course deals with the design, construction, and
maintenance of buildings. It is the second oldest engineering discipline. Civil
engineers design, built, supervise, operate, construct and maintain
infrastructure projects and systems in the public and private sector including
roads, buildings, dams, bridges, and systems for water supply. After passing
this course, they can join construction companies. The candidates can also find
jobs in the pwd, railways etc.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
PEO-1 To provide the imperatives knowledge of science and engineering concepts fundamental for a Civil Engineer professional and equip the proficiency of fundamentals of Civil Engineering and practical skills needed for competent problem solving ability.
PEO-2 To inculcate ability in creativity & planning and impart knowledge and skills for analyze, test and implement various machineries of civil Engineering.
PEO-3 To impart quality education and knowledge in contemporary science and technology to meet the challenges in the field of Civil Engineering and to serve the society.
PEO-4 To inculcate the sense of ethics, morality, creativity, leadership, professionalism, self confidence and independent thinking.
PEO-5 To motivate the students to take up higher studies and entrepreneurship.
Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)
PSO-1 Performs field and laboratory tests required for planning design and construction of civil engineering and infrastructure work.
PSO-2 The program make diplomats Design, Drawing, test, estimate, planning, construction society needed products and engage in construction, repair & maintenance such quality products with utmost environment safety and committed for and provide good service to the society..
